Dr. DeSantis is Board Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontists. He is a practicing Prosthodontist and is an Associate Clinical Professor at New York University College of Dentistry in the Department of Post Graduate Prosthodontics. Dr. DeSantis both mentors and teaches young Doctors working on their Post Doctorate Certification.
By incorporating Post Doctoral Education into his busy schedule, Dr. DeSantis keeps on the cutting edge of Dental Education and knowledge.
He has lectured nationally and is a nationally recognized leader in his field.
Dr. DeSantis completed his Post Doctoral Specialty Studies at Montefiore Medical Center/ Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Prosthodontics in 1993.
He graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1983. At graduation he received the Academy of General Dentistry Award as the "Outstanding Clinical Senior Student", the Bernard E. Rudner Award for "Excellence in Family Practice", and the Sigma Kappa Epsilon Award for Excellence, and Highest Honors for Fixed Prosthodontics.
He has been honored by receiving Fellowships from the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists.
Dr. DeSantis was born and raised on Staten Island. He has been in practice since 1984. He is a graduate of New Dorp High School and graduated from Wagner College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and minors in Chemistry and Religion.
Although Dr. DeSantis chose to practice in the neighborhood where he was raised, his patients have been referred not only from the Greater New York area, but from as far away as India, Russia, Italy, and Canada.
Dr. DeSantis lives with his wife, family and Pugs "Caesar and Spartacus" on Staten Island. He is an accomplished and avid chess player. A leader in the Dental Community, Dr. DeSantis is the past President of the Richmond County Dental Society.
